Despite missing the final four games of the year with a persistent hamstring injury, Rory Thompson had his best season in SUNS colours in 2018. He provided stability in the backline as young players found their feet in the side and could be relied on to contain some of the competition’s best forwards. Thompson became the first Gold Coast local to play 100 games for the SUNS in 2018.
