Delisted Gold Coast midfielder Brad Scheer commits to Southport

Southport has secured yet another former Gold Coast SUNS player with midfielder Brad Scheer committing to the Sharks for the 2020 season.

It comes a week after former teammate Connor Nutting put pen to paper, after both were delisted by the club this year.

Scheer played 13 AFL games for Gold Coast through the midfield and forward line after being selected with pick 67 of the 2016 NAB AFL National Draft.

A product of Palm Beach Currumbin, Scheer came through the SUNS Academy and made his NEAFL debut in 2015 before being picked up by the SUNS.

He will be a strong addition to the Sharks midfield as they aim for a third consecutive NEAFL Grand Final berth in 2020.

Scheer and Nutting have joined a host of former SUNS players from both the AFL list and academy at the Sharks, including co-captains Andrew Boston and Seb Tape, Matt Shaw, Ryan Davis and Mackenzie Willis.
